and if someone is trying to suppress the thoughts, he can be successful for the short term but eventually, all suppressed things will come out with a great force. 

instead, one can observe thoughts and analyze the origin and cause of those, instead of fighting with thoughts.

like daily work or any other thought.But it Is also our duty to throw the unwanted thoughts from mind by focusing attention on breathing pattern and keeping away the thought again and again Even the thought unable to go out of mind then one can start counting from 0 to 100 and reverse and can continue till  thought go away.Meditation is also helpful for focussing attention on the particular object.
