Anyway unless you take some similarities and get carried away : Ab (أب)- Abban/Appan - Father ’Um (أم) - Amma - Mother Ukh (أخ) - Annan - Brother Ukht (أخت) - Akka - Sister (Elder in Tamil) Jida (جدة) - Paatti - Grandmother It is not without reason that they are classified into the language families that they are. The only possible similarity is that a diglossia tends to exist among educated Arabs - they know their own Arabic language and Fus-ha. Similarly among Tamils, they are taught Chen Tamil, so they know that besides the spoken standard and non standard variants.
