For example-lets take 2 combinations of commodities say apple, mango and orange and grapes. Now suppose by consuming 1 apple and 1 mango gives you a utility(satisfaction) of say 10 and also by consuming 1 orange and a bowl of grapes derives utility of 10. so whether the consumer consumes combination A or B it gives him the same utility(satisfaction) and so the consumer is indifferent about which combination he is consuming.
