Hi, Chandan,
A lot of people have this fear of being judged for their English pronunciation and grammar. I believe that basic grammar is essential for spoken English. It is the foundation. Added to that, you also need to have a useful vocabulary. These factors will give you enough confidence to speak English. Initially use short sentences, so that the meaning is conveyed correctly. Long sentences to be avoided as far as possible. Also, start talking to people with whom you are comfortable. Be open to correction. Listen to songs and watch movies.

Mother tongue influence is an issue for almost all non-native speakers. We all strive to perfect our pronunciation in line with British or American accents. A daunting task is indeed requiring loads of practice. My advice is that clarity of speech coupled with confidence, will do the job. All we need to take care of is that we should try to speak English without any regional intones. Lets also not forget that Indians speak the local languages at high speed. We need to apply the brakes when speaking English. All said, no harm in listening to the correct pronunciation of any word. The choice is yours British or American.
