Avijit Das

Avijit Das is a young spirited dancer who believes in using is art as a medium of both showcasing the rich tradition as well as the modern interpretations of Indian classical art at the same time challenging his audiences to come to terms with their own sense of aesthetics.
Just like a glimpse in the mirror, avijit's fire brand style of work both when performing as well as teaching aim to encourage self identity in the viewer or students. Avijit is also an excellent team player who share his passion for perfection and constantly strives to incorporate newer ideas to create exciting choreography. He is eager to collaborate and any artist an easily partake of the wealth of his exquisite art history.

Avijit was initiated into classical Indian dance Bharatanatyam at the age of five under the guidance of Smt. Sanaka Biswas of Shanti Niketan. Avijit also did his Diploma in Bharatanatyam in Chennai's Kalakshetra (Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts) having completed the four year diploma program on merit scholarship in 2011. He further developed keen interest in the Kuchipudi style of dance. After initial training in Chennai's Kuchipudi Art Academy under renowned Guru Sri Vempati Chinna Satyam and legendary Kuchipudi exponent Smt. Manju Bharggavee, at present he is under the guidance of Sri Jaikishore Mosalikanti.
Apart from dance, Avijit has also learnt Carnatic music .
