Are there any national-level medical licensing exams?

You need to clear MBBS. Not short cuts

How are the results of MBBS exams communicated to students?

Depends on the university. Most of them announce on their website and student will have to login to check for results

What happens if a student fails an MBBS exam?

YDepends on each university. Some do have repeat exam in just 2-3 months. Some have repeat exam after 6months. However, if a student fails in first year then such student will not be permitted to move to next year. However, if a student fails in first year then such student will not be permitted to move to next year. Whereas, if the student fails in 2nd or 3rd year can move till final year, however the student will have to clear the previous year exam before apprearing to higher year exam.

Can students change their specialty during residency?

No. You will have to surrender the seat by paying full course fee of 3 years and appear for NEET PG again and opt a desired branch based on your rank.

Are there opportunities for international residencies?

Yes.. you can clear PLAB exam and get into residency programme in UK. Similarly USMLE for residency in USA
