Yes.. They consider discounts for Colleges and even corporate trainings.. Please talk to Tableau regional sales manager.. we have negotiated a deal for Dell for 15 students last year.

Hello There, As far as my experience, Tableau can help with below scenarios in analytics. 1. Segmentation and cohort analysis 2. Scenario and what-if analysis 3. Sophisticated calculations and statistical functions 4. Time-series and predictive analysis All the above can be done directly in Tableau with out integrating R or Phython. There is a feasibility to integrate R and Python in Tableau, send code to R and Python Server, get response and visualize. Why are software licenses for server-based software priced according to the number of processor cores on the box(es) on which it will be deployed?

Hello Prakash, Tableau Server based license comes in two variants.. 1. User/Seat based license : In this we will be able to add only specific number of users to the server. Suppose say we bought a user based license for 100. Then we will be able to add 100 users to server with appropriate... ...more
Hello Prakash, Tableau Server based license comes in two variants.. 1. User/Seat based license : In this we will be able to add only specific number of users to the server. Suppose say we bought a user based license for 100. Then we will be able to add 100 users to server with appropriate roles. 101 user will become a guest user with guest role on server. 2. Enterprise license: Will not impose any restrictions on the number of users rather we pay for number of cores in the machine. Both physical and virtual cores on server count towards the license. The number of cores in the machine plays a major role in deciding the concurrent users ( the maximum number of users a server can handle at any point of time), performance of the different processes and services. We can only assign these cores to the individual services when we install Tableau server. More number of cores to handle more user requests,extract refreshes and caching. I hope this helps..
