Pusthakam Ramaa, hailing from a family of music, Her mother Indira was her first teacher. Later she continued her training under the able guidence of Vidushi Nagamani Srinath and R.K.Srikantan,


Ramaa is Top Grade Artiste of All India Radio .

Ramaa's intuitive excellence in concert with a vibrant professionalism, admirable approach enriched with devotion and dedication has carved out an artist with an artist of exception.

 For her excellent contribution towards music and dance field, Sangeetha Nrithya Academy has conferred KARNATAKA KALASHREE award on her. She has also received Ananya Award, Gaana Varidhi Award, Life time Achievment Award from JEEVA Foundation and The Mayor of Louisville has honoured her with Honorary  citizen of Louisville.
She recently received Kempegowda Award
Gana kala Suvarna and
Kala Jyothi Award .
She has produced A grand Musical Drama on Bangalore Nagaratnamma A great singer who built Thyagaraja Temple at Tiruvaiyyar.

She has toured all over the world, and given vocal support to famous artists like Kelucharanmahapathra, Hemamalini, Adeyar Lakshman,
C.S. Chandrashekhar, Prathibha Prahlad,
Swapna Sundari . She has many audio records to her credit.

Ramaa is dedicating her time and money for promoting art through her organisation SANGEETHA SAMBRHAMA. Every year she conducts international
music and dance festival showcasing artists of high caliber and provides opportunity to upcoming artists. She also teaches music to many students in India and abroad through Skype.
