IdentityWith fourteen years of experience in the field and twelve years in teaching, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my role. In 1999, I obtained an MSc in Applied Psychology, followed by a B.Ed in 2014. I also hold a post-graduation diploma in Learning Disability and am pursuing a D.Ed in Intellectual Disability from IRC Shankarmat. For the past nine years, I had the opportunity to work at VIBGYOR School, where I honed my skills as an educator. I am employed at Sarvam International School. Throughout my journey, I have had the privilege of teaching over 240 students, covering a range of subjects.
Throughout my career, I have encountered various challenges. One recurring difficulty I face is when students struggle to understand the concepts I teach. However, I have always strived to find innovative ways to engage with my students and ensure their comprehension. I specialise in students with multiple disorders. In addition to my regular teaching duties, I conduct remedial sessions for slow learners and specialise in special education for children with autism. I am well-versed in both online and offline teaching methodologies.
When working with students with autism and mental retardation, I employ various assessment techniques to evaluate their progress. These assessments cover areas such as reading, writing, spelling, and overall educational development. Based on the assessment results, I create individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs. I employ visual and auditory teaching techniques during virtual classes to ensure effective online teaching. I also provide students with worksheets and share relevant website links that supplement their learning. By utilising these resources, I strive to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment for my students.
