"I came to know Sonia through one of my relatives as their child was learning Mandarin from her. I was also interested in learning Mandarin and keen to have a teacher who could make me familiar with the language in my home space. I am based in Hong Kong and she made my work easy by taking classes on Skype. Her classes are very interesting, she gives her full attention to the student and makes sure that the language is well understood. Her methodology of teaching is quite simple and easy. She is very approachable & sweet. My classes were quite interesting and I loved the way she taught me. I have finished Basic Conversational 1 in Mandarin and after doing it, I am confident enough to understand and speak basic Mandarin. What is Mandarin? What is Chinese? What’s the difference?

" Mandarin" is the official language in Mainland China, Hongkong, Taiwan and one of the official languages in Singapore. When referring to Mandarin (Chinese language) most of people often says it as 'Chinese" however it does not mean "language"

How much time will it take for a beginner to learn Chinese language?

Chinese language is very broad term; which includes all dialects spoken in china but Mandarin Chinese is the official language of Mainland China. Mandarin Language has many levels; in beginner level one needs to spend 30 hrs.

How many alphabets are there in Chinese language?

Chinese language does not have alphabets; instead have characters. Chinese language have more than 20,000 characters however one must know 3000-4000 characters for everyday use. Hope this information is useful

Spoken Chinese language is taught using English alphabets and this system is called "PinYin". Reading and writing part includes memorization of Chinese characters (han zi).
