BITSAT Exam

BITSAT (BITS Admission Test) is an online competitive test conducted nationwide which is administered by BITS. The BITSAT tests to select students for admission into Integrated First Degree programs of BITS, Pilani, at Pilani Campus, Goa campus and Hyderabad Campus. It is one of the prestigious tests that evaluates students’ knowledge about Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English and Logical Reasoning for admission into Engineering, Pharmacy, Technology and Humanities courses in BITS campuses – Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani is a leading institute of Higher Education and a Deemed University under section 3 of the UGC act.

BITSAT is one of the most prestigious engineering entrance exams in India. BITSAT score is also accepted by NIIT University for taking students into its B.Tech programs – Computer Science, Biotechnology, Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. In 2015, a total of 1.88 lakh students have appeared for the BITSAT exam and the number is increasing every year. Students who ranked 1^st in their 12^th standard in respective boards will be given direct admissions to the course of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT score.

Eligibility Criteria:

Admission in programs other than B.Pharm. (Honors):

An aspiring candidate should have passed his 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized State/Central board or its equivalent with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics and proficiency in English and Logical Reasoning.

Admission to B.Pharm. (Honors) An aspiring candidate should have passed his 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized State/Central board or its equivalent with Chemistry, Physics and Biology and proficiency in English and Logical Reasoning. However candidates with PCM may also apply for Pharmacy program.

Other Important Eligibility Criteria:

1. Aspiring candidates should score a minimum of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (if he has opted for Mathematics in BITSAT) or, 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) in 12^th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology subjects
2. Students who have appeared for their 12^th Standard exam in 2016 or who have passed the exam in 2015 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2016 exam
3. If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in the 12^th Standard or its equivalent, only his last performance will be considered. However, it has to be for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed
4. Students who appeared for their 12^th Standard in 2014 or earlier are not eligible to appear for BITSAT test
5. If any aspiring candidates is studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear for the test

Admission in any of the programs available at BITS will be done on merit basis.
