yes, PTE only valid for Australia. But better you go for IELTS which enhance your movement across the globe

I guess the question is specific to PTE 'General' and the answer would be NO, PTE Academic is accepted for Australian Visa Purposes.

Yes the PTE is valid for Australia PR for majority of Skilled Occupations. However, if your profession is Engineering, then there is no evidence that your skills assessing body i.e., 'Engineers Australia' accepts PTE. In this case, it is better for you to opt for IELTS than PTE.
