IdentityI have worked as a teacher for the last 18 years and have handled the subjects Mathematics, Carnatic music and primary school Hindi.
Before joining the school, I took tuition at home for over 10 years I do not believe in teaching Maths with just the chalk and board and so I incorporate a lot of practical methods - exercises, projects and worksheets.
I have been taking tuition for the last 20 years for children in classes I-VIII for all subjects.
As a music teacher, my journey began even before I joined a school. I've been taking music classes at home for the last 20 years. Shrishti School, Vellore, where I worked until recently, gives a lot of importance to extra curricular activities so they have a morning slot for Carnatic music every day and for every festival or event there are 2-3 music programmes, which I've been in charge of.
I have trained children to sing patriotic, devotional, light music and cinema songs for a span of 2 hours. I have trained children to perform at temples, programs and competitions in and around Tamil Nadu.
I am always open to innovative methods of teaching that involves the children as I believe one needs to establish a connect with them to understand their psyche and teach according to the pace each child.
I also take tuition and music classes via Skype as well.
