How to prepare for the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam?

In this lesson, I will teach you how to prepare for the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam.

Your class 12 board exam is probably the most important exam in your school and thus it is very important to remain focussed and prepare with full concentration to succeed in your exam.

This lesson will help you to gain confidence while prepraing for your CBSE Board Exam and also will help you give an idea on how to approach the exam. There will be 5 or 6 subjects to prepare for the CBSE board exam. You can score good marks if you give equal importance and focus on each and every subject.

I will give you important strategies to prepare and some preparation tips:

Consisteny is Key to Success in Board Exams

You have to study consistently every single day for atleast 3 hours. I mean 3 hours of self study (learning by yourself) and not tuition or coaching time. Study for 25 minutes and then take a 5 minute break and repeat this process until you finish studying (Apply Pomodoro Technique).

Revision of all Subjects is very Important

Make sure that you revise whatever you have learnt in school immediately after reaching home. Spend atleast 30 mins to remember and recall whatever has been taught in the school.

Apply “Abraham Paul's Study Technique”

This technique is devised by me and many of my students found it very useful for remembering and understanding difficult concepts. The technique goes like this:

“Pick a book and Start reading the topic/subject you want to learn. After you have finished reading, now close the book. Close your eyes and then start running a movie(or mental video) in your head of whatever you have learnt from the book. Try to visualize what you have read as pictures and objects so that you are seeing yourself doing it practically in your mind. If you are stuck somewhere then go back and read the book again and then repeat the above process until you fully remember and understand all the concepts!”

Bonus: After learning a particular topic immediately start teaching that topic to someone who doesnot know it! This will improve your understanding of the subject and also your communication skills.

Solve different types of questions

Solve more questions because in the exam only questions are going to be asked. So you must practice as many questions as possible. I advise you to solve previous year question papers of last 10 years and also the sample question paper that is issued by the CBSE itself. This will give you more confidence to face the actual board exam without any stress.

Also take mock tests at home every week to assess your performance on a regular basis.

Focus more on Weak Areas and make them your strengths

Give equal importance to all the subjects and focus more on your weak areas or subjects. Make sure that you are comfortable in each and every topic in all the subjects in your course. Never leave any topic for the board exam as you have to “expect the unexpected” in the actual board exam.

Never hesitate to ask doubts

If you are not able to understand a particular topic then ask your teacher to explain the concept again. Still if you are not able to understand then watch some good videos on YouTube about the topic and search Google for easy explanation of the topic.

Final revision is crucial for success

Finally revise whatever you have learnt since if you don't revise then you will forget and whatever you have learnt becomes useless and the time which you spend learning will also become wasted. So Revise whatever you have learnt during the week in the weekend.

That's it.

Conclusion

These are my top 7 preparation strategies to excel in the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2019.

If you apply the above tips then surely you will score good marks in the CBSE Class 12 board exam and make your teachers and parents proud.
