We shall use the equation Traveled distance = ut+(1/2)at^{2} U is the initial velocity, t is time a is acceleration Here, u=0, since bus started from rest. So, S = (1/2)at^2 = (1/2)×0.1×120^{2} Distance traveled after 2 mins = 720meters.

We shall use the equation

Traveled distance = ut+(1/2)at^{2}

U is the initial velocity,

t is time

a is acceleration

Here, u=0, since bus started from rest.

So,

S = (1/2)at^2

= (1/2)×0.1×120^{2}

Distance traveled after 2 mins = 720meters.

Given data Initial velocity, u = 0 m/s Acceleration , a= 0.1m/S2 Time, t = 2min= 120s Speed acquired, v= u +at = 0+ 0.1x120 = 12m/s. The speed acquired is 12m/s Distance travelled, S= ut + 1/2at2 = 0 + 1/2 ( 0.1x120x120) = 0.1x120x60 = 720m The distance travelled is 720m.

Given data

Initial velocity, u = 0 m/s

Acceleration , a= 0.1m/S2

Time, t = 2min= 120s

Speed acquired,

v= u +at

= 0+ 0.1x120

= 12m/s.

The speed acquired is 12m/s

Distance travelled,

S= ut + 1/2at2

= 0 + 1/2 ( 0.1x120x120)

= 0.1x120x60

=  720m

The distance travelled is 720m.

A train is travelling at a speed of 90 km h−1. Brakes are applied so as to produce a uniform acceleration of −0.5 m s−2. Find how far the train will go before it is brought to rest.

Speed of train , u = 90 km/h = 90 × 5/18 = 25 m/sacceleration , a = -0.5 m/s²Use formula,v = u + atFinally train will be rest so, final velocity, v = 00 = 25 - 0.5t25 = 0.5t ⇒t = 50 sec Again,...

What can you say about the motion of an object if its speed−time graph is a straight line parallel to the time axis?

Object is moving uniformly. A straight line parallel to the time axis in a speed−time graph indicates that with a change in time, there is no change in the speed of the object. This indicates the uniform motion of the object.

What can you say about the motion of an object whose distance−time graph is a straight line parallel to the time axis?

When an object is at rest, its distance−time graph is a straight line parallel to the time axis. A straight line parallel to the x-axis in a distance−-time graph indicates that with a change...

A trolley, while going down an inclined plane, has an acceleration of 2 cm s−2. What will be its velocity 3 s after the start?

In 1 sec Velocity of body increases by 2cm/sec. So in 3sec it's velocity would be 2cm/sec 3= 6cm/s
