A constant speed body moving in a circle, the motion of this body will be called uniform circular motion. In case of uniform circular motion, the speed is constant but velocity is changing every instant. If a particle is moving in uniform circular motion:

1) Its speed is constant

2) Velocity is changing at every instant

3) There is no tangential acceleration

4) Radial (centripetal) acceleration = Ï?*Ï?*r 5) v=Ï?*r.

These are Some examples of uniform circular motion.

1. A moving hand of a clock,

2. A blade of a fan,

3. The revolution of the Earth,

4. A film tape on the projector.

Uniform circular motion can be described as the motion of an object in a circle at a constant speed. As an object moves in a circle, it is constantly changing its direction. At all instances, the object is moving tangent to the circle. Since the direction of the velocity vector is the same as the direction of the object's motion, the velocity vector is directed tangent to the circle as well. The animation at the right depicts this by means of a vector arrow. An object moving in a circle is accelerating. Accelerating objects are objects which are changing their velocity - either the speed (i.e., magnitude of the velocity vector) or the direction. An object undergoing uniform circular motion is moving with a constant speed. Nonetheless, it is accelerating due to its change in direction. The direction of the acceleration is inwards. The animation at the right depicts this by means of a vector arrow.

Any particle moving in circle, but have zero acceleration. They dont change velocity. example are our earth motion around sun.

The circular motion of a body with moving at constant speed and constant angular acceleration is called uniform circular motion. Eg: Hands of a clock. A geostationary satellite (It stays right above a constant location on earth throughout the day.

Uniform circular motion describes an object moves along a circular path at constant speed. The velocity of the object any point on the circular path is directed along the tangent. Therefore its velocity change continuously (though its speed is constant). The change in velocity is possible only when there is the force acting on the object making it move along the curved path. This force is directed towards the centre of the circular path, along which the object moves. This force is referred as centripetal force. A stone tied to the string and swung in circles is an example of uniform circular motion, provided its speed is kept constant. A car going along a curve is another example. read less

An object is said to be in uniform circular motion if it is moving with constant speed on any circular path. Ex. motion of earth on its orbit(because earth is moving with same speed throughout the whole journey.
