Because chicken pox is caused by a virus (varicella zoster virus or VZV) and when your body meets this virus (gets infected with it) for the FIRST time, the immune system of your body creates antibodies (antibodies are a special protein made by B cells of the WBC) to fight the virus and then the specialized cells of the WBC retain the memory of the virus so when there's a second attack they instantly kill-stop the virus! read less
