a) In the nucleus, the DNA double helix is packaged by special proteins (histones) to form a complex called chromatin. The chromatin undergoes further condensation to form the chromosome.Basic association of DNA and protein arrange into stands of thickness less then 30nm are called chromatin fibers. Chromatin is found in all stages of the cell cycle and they undergo further coiling to form chromosomes that are distinctly visible during cell division as highly condensed structures (up to several thousand nm). b) Thigmotropism is the directional response of a plant organ to touch or physical contact with a solid object. This directional response is generally caused by the induction of some pattern of differential growth. Example is clearly illustrated by the climbing tendrils of some plants, such as the sweet pea. The tendrils actually "feel" the solid object, which results in the coiling response. read less

During cell division, chromosome decondensed into long chromatin fiber and In S phase i.e. synthesis phase of cell cycle (followed by G0 and G1 phase) DNA unrapped from histone proteins by acetylation and methylation modifications and DNA replication starts which leads to chromosome duplication. After S-phase, cell enters into G2 phase where loose DNA condensed and form a intact chromosome. Finally, cell enters into M-phase i.e. Mitotic phase of the cycle, here cell divides into two daughter cells. read less

it is a complex macromolecules found in cells , consisting of DNA,protein and RNA. the primer function of chromatin are to package dna into smaller volume to fit the cell, to reinforce the dna macromolecule to allow mitosis, to prevent dna damage , to control gene expression and dna replication. it undergoes various changes during cell cycle .histone proteins r the basic packer and arranger of chromatin and can be modified by various post translational modification to alter chromatine packing(histone modification). histone acetylation results in loosening and increased accessibility of chromatin for replication and transcription . histone tri-methylation induces chromatic compaction and decreases accessibility. the precise structure of the chromatin fibre in the cell is not known in detail. thigmotropism--is a movement in which plant moves or grows in response to touch or contact stimuli. usually it occurs when plant grows around a surface such wall, pot etc. read less

This type of stimulus is known as a contact stimulus, and is important for the growth and development of many organisms. Sometimes you accidentally bite your lip or skin your knee, but in a matter of days the wound heals. Is it magic? Or, is there another explanation? Every day, every hour, every second one of the most important events in life is going on in your body—cells are dividing. When cells divide, they make new cells. A single cell divides to make two cells and these two cells then divide to make four cells, and so on. We call this process "cell division" and "cell reproduction," because new cells are formed when old cells divide. The ability of cells to divide is unique for living organisms. read less
