The CLAT 2017 for under-graduate programme consists of 200 multiple-choice questions. The total exam duration is of 2 hours. There will be negative marking deducting 0.25 for each wrong answer.
CLAT 2017 for Undergraduate programme:

The CLAT 2017 exam for post-graduate programme consists of 150 multiple choice questions, carrying a total mark of 150. The exam would last for 2 hours duration. The following are the subjects:

| Constitutional Law | 50 |
| Jurisprudence | 50 |
| Other law subjects:Such as Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, Family Law, Property Law, IPR etc. | 50 |
