Bharathi Periyasamy

Dr.Bharathi P born in Pudukkottai and grew up by well-disciplined parents belong to a middle class family with two elder sisters. School first in Tenth standard that was his first academic achievement. He obtained his B. Pharm degree in the year 2005 from Periyar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, with a bronze medal for securing third rank and completed his M. Pharm with Pharmaceutical Biotechnology specialization in College of Pharmacy, SRIPMS 2008 with a credit of Dept. Topper. He secured The Tamil Nadu Pharmaceutical Sciences Welfare Trust First Prize Scholarship & certificate for his M.Pharm Project work. He has earned his Ph.D. in the year 2017 from The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. He also holds a DCA with A-Grade and Post Graduate Diploma in Bio Informatics with distinction from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
Started his career as lecturer in the College of Pharmacy, SRIPMS in the year 2008 and promoted as Assistant professor in the year 2013. He has received four best research paper awards for oral research presentation and three best research poster presentation awards in national and international conferences. He has published 3 papers in international journals and 9 papers in national journals as a presenting author and co-authored for more than 10 papers in various national and international journals. He has delivered many guest lectures in different colleges and schools in various topics. He has received travel grant from European Molecular Biology Organization for presenting his research work at National Institute of Biomedical Genomics.
He has more than one decade of teaching and research experience. His research areas include fermentative production of polymers, cell culture studies, immunomodulant activity, antimicrobial studies of various natural and synthetic compounds & finding its mechanism of action, resistance genes identification & its elimination through various mechanism and he is handling post graduate molecular technique practical's like SDS-PAGE, PCR, gene ligation and digestion, ELISA etc.,. He has guided five research projects in the undergraduate level. He is a life member in Tamil Nadu State Pharmacy Council, Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers in India and Society for Biotechnologists (India). He has attended more than 40 seminars and workshops which includes one winter school (Sponsored by Dept. Biotechnology, GOI) and one Summer school.
