We will be focusing on both spoken and written Mandarin. Students in this course will focus on learning essential vocabulary, practicing pronunciation, and understanding simple grammatical structures. Oral communication, learning to read and write simplified Chinese characters (and pinyin) will also be an important part of the class. In-class activities and fun exercises aim to assist students as they develop the oral proficiency and confidence necessary to initiate simple conversations. The first step would be to familiarise students with the concept of pinyin and characters in chinese and then the pronunciations. After the student gets a firm grasp on the pinyin chart and tones, we will then move on to basic greetings in mandarin and gradually shift towards sentence structures and basic grammar. I would be teaching students using powerpoint presentations when required. I will also provide interesting ways to learn the language like short chinese songs, poems, etc.

I have well executed personally made lesson plans upto HSK level 3. My teaching methodology includes- Communicative approach, teaching about Chinese Culture, Providing audios and texts, worksheets with fun exercises, audio lingualism, Grammar translation, etc. My aim is to make the learners build the confidence that is needed to speak a new language in public.
