I have been involved in teaching English for over forty years. As HOD English Modern School, Vasant Vihar, I energetically and enthusiastically engaged myself in all facets of language teaching in English. In 1989, I was granted the British Council Charles Wallace Trust Scholarship and sent to Exeter University to train in Syllabus Design and Materials Production. Consequently, I was involved in the BC-CBSE ELT Project which launched the Communicative Approach in India, in Syllabus Design and Materials Production. In 2000 I was awarded the International Scholarship to work towards MATESOL from Edinburgh University, U.K. As Resource Person for BC, I have also been involved in teaching Business English to adults. I have contributed extensively towards materials production for all classes. As Teacher Trainer, I have traveled extensively pan India conducting needs based workshops as well as Capacity Building Workshops for class 12 as well as in ASL. My strengths lie in classroom teaching and in the building of various language skills, particularly spoken English. I have a flair for innovation and the use of popular materials, multimedia, drama in language teaching. I am constantly searching and experimenting so as to make the classroom experience lively, vital and productive.
