Maya B.

Maya is a multilingual vocalist and recording artist currently based in Delhi, India. She has completed her diploma studies in music from KM Music Conservatory (KMMC) Chennai, where she majored in Western classical and Hindustani classical vocals. At KMMC, she was awarded Best Performer for the year 2018-19 and received distinction in performance for three consecutive years. Her final portfolio project at KMMC - Project Kalpana (an online theatrical puppet show featuring musical theatre and operatic music, undertaken to raise awareness for traditional Indian puppetry) - received nationwide acclaim and was appreciated by Dr. A R Rahman.
A graduate of the coveted Shri Ram College of Commerce, Maya has travelled and resided in over five cities in India through which she continued her training in Hindustani classical vocal music and actively contributed to each of the cities’ live music scene. She has been a part of varied ensembles performing contemporary music, operatic works and Hindustani classical compositions. She has done multiple voice overs and studio recordings all over the country for independent artists, music albums, educational institutions and commercial cinema.
With a strong desire to share her passion for music, Maya teaches a variety of genres of Western vocal music to her students. She maps out a vision board for each of her students and tracks their learning trajectories closely. She aims to create an inclusive environment in her classroom where students can learn to become expressive, creative and skilled musicians.
