Gender rules:

In German language, every noun belongs to one of the following three gender groups:

Masculine (der), Feminine (die), Neuter (das)
To use the correct article, it is essential to remember the gender of every noun. There are several rules and guidelines determining the articles of some categories of nouns. But beware there are exceptions.
