Northern Germany is differnent from Southern Germany. But remember you only have to go back 30 years and Germany was split Communist East Germany GDR & Western GFR. Although people now say German, there is still difference; many people migrated West after the fall of the wall. Holland is different from Germany so answer; similar North old West German to North Dutch yes - but not the same.
