My understanding of both hindustani and western music helps me understand how to teach the basics. I have self-taught this instrument to myself since i already knew how to play Hindustani and concert flute. But to teach i hold the knowledge which is required. I teach students how to sight read and play recorder with the basic knowledge of music theory added to the curriculum.
