Answer Both are the different at their own places but both can be used to get admission for MBA because some countries don’t ask for the GMAT, only with IELTS you can get admitted but the top business schools and universities ask for the GMAT so it is important to have GMAT score.
IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System, it is a English proficiency test which tests the Listening, Writing, Reading and Speaking abilities of test taker and its scores are valid for 2 years.
GMAT stands for the Graduate Management Assessment Test which is outlined to speculate that how well the test taker is going to perform in MBA. Its scores are sustainable for 5 years and are used to take the decision by Graduate Business School to take admission decision.

IELTS and GMAT serve different purposes. GMAT is for proving your aptitude for MBA and IELTS is for proving your english proficiency. So if you are from a non-native english speaker then apart from GMAT you would also hae to take IELTS to prove that you can understand english and would be able to go through a english medium taught course such as MBA.
