Hindustani and Carnatic Music( which are being used in Kerala,Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh) and the rest follows the rules of Hindustani Music also known as Northern Music. There are two types of sangeet padhhati in india. One is Hindustani Sangeet paddhati and the other one is Carnatic Sangeet padhhati. Both are the same. But the style or the presentation of singing is totally different from each other. Hindustani sangeet is prevailing in North india and Carnatic sangeet prevails in South India.
