Why Java is platform independent?

-->every program written in which ever software is executed by processor . -->and processor understand only binary 0's and 1's. -->as humans cannot write binary, assembly code will generate binary. and assembly code generated binaries are platform dependent. -->for example: C language producess... ...more
-->every program written in which ever software is executed by processor . -->and processor understand only binary 0's and 1's. -->as humans cannot write binary, assembly code will generate binary. and assembly code generated binaries are platform dependent. -->for example: C language producess assembly code and assembly code producess binary code. c language producing assembly code is platform dependent -->in java: A special process is introduced which is . java classes upon compiling producess will generate byte code. --> this byte code can be given to any JRE(JRE installed on Mac, windown, linux etc) --> and JRE will produce assembly code from byte and assembly code will produce platfrom specific binary code. --> this is how java achieved platform independency.

why can't we create an object for abstract class? why wait,notify,notifyall methods were in object class... ...more
why can't we create an object for abstract class? why wait,notify,notifyall methods were in object class but not in thread class?

Abstract class is meant for acting the class as a parent. so inorder to restrict the class being used as it is. java has set this rule. but u can still access the instance methods and variable by subclassing the class.
