It is popularly said that grammar never teaches language to anyone. If your question is about speaking, have that environment around you. For speaking, listening is more important. Keep listening to music, then see its lyrics on Google, watch movies first with subtitles, watch lots of animations. Once... ...more
It is popularly said that grammar never teaches language to anyone. If your question is about speaking, have that environment around you. For speaking, listening is more important. Keep listening to music, then see its lyrics on Google, watch movies first with subtitles, watch lots of animations. Once you do this, you will start understanding the sounds and automatically start speaking. Reading is next phase where you practice what you listen to, in order to get familiar with sounds. Keep speaking.

How much time will it take for a person who can speak Telugu to read and write?

If adult teaching methods are employed, it takes 40 to 60 hours to recognize letters, read and write.
