If you are doing self study, I'd suggest RD Sharma for Maths and HC Verma for Physics. Solve NCERT thoroughly for Physics,Chemistry and Maths (Very Important) Practice more and focus on accuracy as well as Speed for JEE Mains. In case of a rotational motion (Rigid body Dynamics), we can always apply Newtan's laws of motion about an axis passing through the Center of Mass of body. Why? Why can't we always apply Newtans' laws of motion about an axis about which the rigid body happens to be in pure rotation?
For a body in rotation the center of mass is the only point which remains in transient motion, rest others are in rotation.
