• If you are an average student (getting 55-75% marks) or below average you need help from tuition !!
• if you have chosen different streams other than SCIENCE like Arts , Commerce and you are serious about it then I recommend tuition because 11 CLASS IS GOING TO BE YOUR NURSERY for these new alien streams .
• If you are intelligent (Scores 80% above) you JUST need BOOKS .

No its not necessary . If you are well confident , you can get best results even if you study at home . But should plan well with time and can depend on your preferred text books and some specific exam guides you can get in market.And if you think you are not getting enough coaching at school and that you can't do it without ones help ,then you should go get coaching from elsewhere.

No, it is not important to join coaching in class 11. If you think you can do self study with dedication and commit studying for 10 hours then you may not join a coaching. But if you feel the need of tuitions then joining a coaching at class 11 is just the right time. But you should then know how to manage your time between coaching and school.
