Servlets may not be required so much but it is the basis for all the web programming. After this, do a project with spring and hibernate. I assure you that you will be placed. Even if you take up HTML, CSS, Java script, JQuery and Angular JS, you should have project experience. Learn either the front end or middle layer and you should get the interview calls and your investment (Both time and money) will repay you in 2 months... But ensure that you learn from the person who has the knowledge in real time else no use of you paying money at all... All the best.. read less

go with basics , clear your OOPS concepts theoritically and practically . learn some MVC Freamework like spring , struts . you can also explore yourself on REST Webservices with Spring Web. That will help to find good job in java , j2EE .
