Ballet Technique - Ballet Technique is a required class for all festival ballet classes: Beginner I, Beginner II, Junior I, Junior II, and Intermediate. As a result, the classes will be open to festival dancers first, with any remaining spots offered to recreational dancers after August 31.



Tumbling Classes â?? we will be offering tumbling classes this season on Thursdays from 3:00-5:00 pm. Participants must be 8 years of age or older and be registered at the studio in one of the following styles of dance: Ballet, Tap or Hip Hop. If you are interested in registering in tumbling please e-mail the studio and include the tumbling skills your dancers have already mastered.



Stretch and Strength â?? we have not scheduled stretch and strength classes this season. If room opens in the schedule we may have the option of offering this class.



Adult Combo Class â?? we are offering a beginner adult class that will not perform and that will cover an introduction to a variety of different dance styles. This season the scheduled Adult Combo Class will offer Ballet, Jazz on a rotating schedule.



Class Requirements â?? some classes have specific requirements associated with them; please ensure you consider these when registering. Should you not have the appropriate pre-requisite(s) or be registered in the appropriate co-requisite class(es) you will be removed from the class.

Class requirements are as follow:

â?? All festival Ballet classes: dancers must take Ballet Technique

â?? Pre-pointe and Pointe classes: dancers must take Ballet Technique

â?? All Jazz classes: dancers must take Ballet

â?? All Musical Theater classes: dancers must take one additional style of dance (tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop)

â?? All Lyrical classes: dancers must also be taking Ballet and Jazz and have at least one year of experience

in both of these styles.



Class Assessment - the first month of classes will be used to assess all dancers. If, during this time, it is determined that there is a class that will be of greater benefit to the dancer they will be asked to change to that class. While some dancers have been asked to trial new groups this season, class assessment is in effect for all dancers in all classes. Please discuss this with your dancer(s) to ensure potential class changes do not come as a surprise.



Costume Deposit - we will be taking a $30.00 costume deposit, due November 1, 2018, for each performance class. This does not include: Ballet Technique, Pre-Pointe, Pointe, Tumbling, and the Adult Combo Class.



Volunteer Commitment - to ensure all families are involved with our non-profit studio at a common minimum level we will be collecting a volunteer commitment cheque. A deposit of $100.00 if your family dances 2 hours a

week or less, and $200.00 if your family dances over 2 hours a week will be collected at the time of registration (new for the 2018-19 season). This deposit can be a cheque post-dated to May 31, 2019 or a credit card authorization with an expiration date of June 2019 or later. go for tech u
