yes it is a compulsory language .

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, language requirements for competitive exams like the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) exams can change over time. Generally, the language proficiency requirement may vary depending on the specific exam and the nature of the job for which the exam is conducted.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding language requirements in KPSC exams, I recommend checking the official KPSC website or contacting the KPSC directly. They usually provide detailed information about the eligibility criteria, including language requirements, in the official notifications or exam syllabus.

Keep in mind that requirements may be subject to change, so it's essential to refer to the latest official notifications or contact the KPSC authorities for the most accurate information.
