Aishee G.

Aishee started dancing, at a very young age of 3 and participated at various cultural programs and competitions of her school, college and locality. Initially she started learning the Contemporary forms after which she moved on to Odissi, at the age of 8.
Her initiation into Odissi happened under Smt Alokananda Roy. She later trained under Ms Kaberi Sen,disciple of Smt Aloka Kanungo for a few years. Alongside, she was learning Creative and Rabindrik under Smt Poly Guha.

She is currently a professional performer in the Kolkata Mayur Lalit Troupe, directed by Mrs Debamitra Sengupta. She has performed at different venues all over the country and within Kolkata. She has been a part of intensive Odissi workshops for advanced learners held in Kolkata by Guru Ratikant Mahapatra. Aishee has to her credit, performances for international cultural exchange programs, London, ICCR tours in North America and Canada and a number of performances in honour of the Indian Navy.

She is associated with various local clubs, NGO and other small organizations to provide under-privileged children, physical education, and training in dance, free of cost. She has also been meticulously working as a movement therapist at the Alipore Central Jail (Women's correctional home).
