Bhabani Self Defence Classes

I have been training karate for students for the past 40 years. I have my institution, Ballygunge Karate Institute, in association with the Japan Karate Association of India. The Japan Karate Association is the world’s ancient karate association and is registered under The Ministry of Education (Government of Japan).

I hold a 4th degree black belt in karate. I have Instructor Certificate from Japan Karate Association, an Exam Certificate, and Judge Certification to train the students. So students who learn karate from me would be getting proper guidance. I would not just teach them but analyse their potential through exams and provide valuable suggestions to grow in their sports career.
Learning karate has more benefits than we generally know. Besides being self-defensive sports, it helps to concentrate, focus and keep your mind calm. Students who want to join karate class must understand that this sport is more about their mental strength rather than physical. Throughout these past years, I have trained many students and what I have understood is that anyone can learn karate provided they have a genuine interest.

I have completed my B.S in Chemical Science and started teaching karate because I was passionate about it. Throughout my career, I have trained Shotokan karate to many students. They have also won many gold, silver and bronze medal. The Ballygunge area of Kolkata is now famous for winning various karate tournaments. I take real pride in announcing that our Dojo has won many trophies and medals during the 2018 and 2019 JKAL National Championships. Even the 2019 Open Kata Champion winner is also from our Dojo. However, because of the pandemic, no championship was organised in 2020.
