Now in a group, each type of material / physical quantity is measured in a relative method. Thus, the measurement of units help us count / measure a particular physical quantity in a relative way.

Do frequency changes or wavelength changes when light passes through a medium?

When light passes through a medium, its velocity changes since the velocity of light is a medium dependent quality. Hence the wavelength changes accordingly. But the frequency of the light wave does not change as it is the quality of the source of light, not the medium. It thus remains unchanged.

Well, I have a question that might sound a little out of context. But I am quite curious about it. Just the other day I was helping my son with his EVS chapter-Air we breathe. My question is that if the air we breathe contains many other gases (apart from oxygen) then how does our body take in only oxygen. In other words, how does it filter other gases?

When the air comes in contact, hemoglobin reacts only with oxygen present in the air. That is the normal procedure of extracting O2 out of the air just as Mr. Monu answered... but if Carbon Monoxide is present in the air, then also CO reacts with hemoglobin.. but that can be fatal for us. Hence, oxygenated... ...more

I feel hesitation in speaking in English, what should I do to remove my hesitation ??

English is then a foreign language for you. But if that is an obstacle in your way, remove it with strong motivation. Practice talking to yourself on the mirrors... don't stop if you are making grammatical mistakes.. that can be taken care once you start speaking English as fluently as your mother tongue...... ...more

Remember one thing.. try to express your thoughts in English first by gathering vocab knowledge... then go for the grammatically corrected speech... all you have to do .. is to PRACTICE WELL AT HOME... good luck
