Nalini Arangam

Nalini Arangam is a dance school imparting Bharatanatyam classes to students from 5years and above to national and international residents. Classes are held at Tollygunge and various parts of the city. Both online and offline modes are adopted to train the students. Currently, we are in our 6th year and in 2022 we had successfully conducted our annual program with participation from established guest performers. A very comprehensive method of teaching is followed here with equal emphasis on theoretical and practical aspects of Bharatanatyam. Regular assessment is conducted and practice audio and videos are provided which helps the students to correct themselves. Parents are periodically informed about their wards progress.
Our founder director is Nimisha Narayanan who is a professional Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, choreographer and scholar with 18 years of on stage experience and more than 10years of teaching experience. Her association with different cultural organizations in Kolkata as a leading organiser has inculcated leadership qualities in her and has given her opportunities to expose herself to art and culture. She is a lifelong learner and a continuous performer. So, she has been able to learn new things and has tried to incorporate them in her teaching method.
She is a Masters in Performing Arts(MPA) specializing in Bharatanatyam from Hyderabad Central University and a NET scholar. Currently, she is pursuing PhD in dance from the same university. She has attended seminars and workshops of eminent dancers, teachers and scholars which has inculcated a solid sense of artistry in her and has strengthened her ability to teach. Her performances in various cities and in front of various viewers has further strengthened her career.
Besides all the above, she is the mother of a girl child which will influence her when dealing with students in not only moulding them to be a good dancer but also a good human being.
