Another ending could be that Iswaran admitted that it was him pranking Mahendra. He did it because he wanted to see whether Mahendra would believe in ghosts or dismiss the idea. As a result, Mahendra would not have to go and put in his resignation.

One day he narrated him a story about a ghost woman holding a foetus in a full moon night.

The story terrified Mahendra and one day he heard some sound near his window.

He initially ignored the sound but the noise grew louder.

He looked out of the window and saw exactly what Iswaran claimed of seeing: a woman holding a foetus.

He was unable to sleep.

Mahendra was very disturbed and upset and resigned on the very day.
