On what basis the materials of the universe can be classified as insulators, conductors, semi conductors? Is it the unique method to classify or is there any other method for that?

On the basis of energy band diagram and the conduction of charge carriers from one band to another.

Sir I want to prepare for gate from now..how I should prepare for it and when what books I should refer..??

You should prepare by starting from basics if you have enough time left for Gate exam. Otherwise you should solve 2 or 3 previous papers before starting your study, so that you will know the difficult portions on which you have to concentrate. After doing enough study and solving questions of previous... ...more
You should prepare by starting from basics if you have enough time left for Gate exam. Otherwise you should solve 2 or 3 previous papers before starting your study, so that you will know the difficult portions on which you have to concentrate. After doing enough study and solving questions of previous years papers try to discuss concepts with your friends, this will help you retain them in your memory for long time. In a discipline way solve at least one paper a day sitting alone for 3 hours.

what is differennce between btech and bachelor of engineering?

Dear Suryateja nowadays Btech course is more preferred among students as it involves more practical exposure. But I think their fee is also more as compared to BE courses. Companies are also hiring B. Tech freshers rather than BE.
