"My daughter niharika learns guitar from rishi and she's gotten quite good in the past few months! she's 12 so it's a good time for her to learn and she can play some nice tunes. "

"Rishi taught my son guitar for past 1 year and my son enjoy classes very much. I also like that my son is now able to play many songs which sound very nice and it’s good to see him enjoy music and learn many new things. Affordable classes also, I tried other teachers before for a few months for my son but they would charge for about the same money and not teach much. Akshay (my son) says he learn more with Rishi in 1 month than he did with his previous teacher in 3 months and I can also see the difference. Also if my son is busy or sick he will reschedule if I tell 1 day before without charge, good person ethical also. Good guitar teacher I would recommend. "

"I started classes with Rishi 2 months ago and I’ve really been enjoying the experience so far. I am a beginner so we’ve mostly only been doing basics right now but I’ve never had a doubt with anything that he’s taught. He’ll make sure you understand things down to the very basics, it makes learning very enjoyable as there are no unanswered questions after a class. Classes are a lot of fun and I got to know a whole side of music that I didn’t even know existed. You’ll also get to listen to a lot of very cool new music. Great guy too, always has very interesting things to talk about and you’ll not only learn guitar but everything related to music. He’s pretty chill and flexible with classes, it’s a great experience. "I have been learning guitar from Rishi for over month now and I am seeing a very good progress in me. He is very patient while teaching and doesn’t mind going over the same topic several times. The classes are never boring we don’t do the same thing over and over again, we try do a lot of different things. He gives you the feedback then and there which helps you correct your mistake. So if you would like to learn guitar and have fun at the same time while doing it I would recommend you to enroll with him. "

Have you attended any class with Rishi?

Once you reach 200-240 BPM your chord switching should be good enough to play most songs!

Hi Kunal,

Guitar tabs provide you with instructions on how to play a melody, whereas when you strum, you're playing chords, which are the harmony behind the melody, and in some cases, have a melody running on the upper structure of a chord.

Guitar tabs tell you which fret to play at which string. The bottom most line on the tab is the thickest (Low E) string, and the upper most line is the thinnest (high e) string. Then just play the fret at the string it tells you to and you're playing a melody!

Kadence is relatively new in the guitar manufacturing industry while Yamaha has been making amazing guitars for many years now. I would advise an F310 if you're a beginner since it will undoubtedly be a great guitar.
For more experienced players, always play the guitar before buying it. It should feel right in your hands, and you should love the sound of it. You might connect more to an inexpensive guitar while the connection might be missing in even a Martin or a Taylor.
F310 will last you the test of time, my experience with Kadence has not been great. I got a Kadence Slowhand, and it had some manufacturing defects. Not saying that the guitars are bad, but there's a slight gamble there. I use Kadence products every day (stands, cables, strings, etc.), and they're perfect, however, I still think they need a couple of years of guitar manufacturing experience to be at par with a manufacturer like Yamaha.

It is advisable to have your own guitar so you can practice by yourself. The biggest part of learning any instrument is practicing, because if you don't practice, you will not get better! So get yourself a guitar even if the tutor is providing you with one.

Hi Srinu!

The fundamentals of music will remain same whether it's Indian classical or Western music, it's just that the approach and theories of music differ within the respective styles of music. It's easier to start with Western music because there's an abundance of teachers, online lessons, dedicated websites and support. If a person's fundamentals are clear and they have strong basics and a good musical vocabulary, they'll be able to understand and play any style of music. :)
