Hi! Myself Rashmi mother of seven years old son. I have visited new horizon gurukul and found it perfect for my son's education as it not only improves physical education but also spiritual knowledge through the preachings of vedic science. This school has prefect blend of culture with new technology.

I am very happy with the school. My kid is happy too.
Positives:
1. 2 teachers for a class of 35 kids. For me its a good ratio
2. Class rooms, toilets, sick room etc.. are good, clean
3. Fairly bigger play ground. Nice play structures for small kids.
4. CBSE- the most child friendly , time tested board.
5. Good teachers . I cud see the teachers are observing my child with the way they answer any question I ask in PT meetings.
6. Only weekend homework for pre primary classes..
7. My daughter enjoys going to school.
8. Recently (Jan-2011) they conducted Sports day for pre primary -- YES they have put huge effort in bringing such a good show.. Though my daughter didnt win any prize she didnt cry-- That itself showed that the class teachers (atleast) didnt put the pressure in every child to run fast & win the prize.. I am sure they wont make education as a mad race.

My prev review continued as only 1000 words were allowed..
9. Though I have no transport issues, we have got a very good route and happy with the bus timings.
10. Proximity to most of the area in ORR.
11. I hear from parents of older kids that the math & science are taught well compared to their previous school.
12. so far we have given money for this sports day costume..nothing else.. I hope they dont ask for money now & then ....
13. Do the math -- the fee structure is not too much for the 2nd year onwards while comparing other schools.
Issues:
1. Some transport issues last year..If those issues are still there, the transportation may take time to settle as it is a new school.
2. Yes -- First year fee (one time fee) is too much.
by Radha on Jan 10, 2011
All the things of the NHG are quite praiseworthy except that they are not transparent about their fee structure, like some of other schools, mentioned their fee structures on their official website. I would have liked them to be more transparent.

The management talks so much about inculcating values as part of the education. But when the management took us through the facilities (on 12.02.10), I was sad to notice a boy below the age of 10 working in the canteen in the basement. I wonder how can they allow a child labor. I came back wondering 'what are the values they were talking about all along'

Date May 2012
I visited New Horizon Gurukul last week.
Has discussion with JYOTHIKA, the admission in charge. She said only some limited seats are available today and we are closing admission by Today. we won't be accepting any new admission form after that. I inquired her about the School fees for which she said it's 66k as tuition fees. Then i asked about the admission fees. she said that principal will let you know. I told then i will like to speak to principal for which she replied i can only meet her after i fill the admission form(Admission form cost 400/- INR )
Then i requested once again for the admission fees for which she said we can't tell you , it's only the principal who decides. So finally i bought the admission form for 400 Rupees. Filled the admission form(Where annual income of both parents needs to be filled) and handed over to Jyothika. Then she asked me to wait outside till the time principal calls you.After some time Jyothika (same lady) calls me and said she had a discussion with the principal over phone.Then she Told me the fees;
1) Development fees : seventy five thousand (75,000/- INR , 75k)
2) Admission fees : Fourty Five Thousand (45,000/- INR , 45k)
3) Tuition fees : Sixty six thousand and two hundred (66,200/- INR, 66.2 K)
It was a shock to me at very first moment itself. I realized that i was been Fooled to pay 400 Rupees.
Then i asked that lady that i will like to speak to Principal for which she answered she is not available in school (some 15 minutes back she said she is in school only). Then i said i want to discuss regarding the development fees as , this is crossing my budget . For which she said, It's you call if you want admission you only decide on to this..
For me it was like...what can be done now. I wasted my half day there. (As a working professional took half day leave when thay said you need to fill the form followed by which a discussion with principle will happen)
Paid 400 Rupees for the Admission form (That's totally waste, if she would have told me the fees earlier only , i would not have filed up the admission form only) All religious studies is been handed over to Iskcon . Iskcon guys please teach them some thing to this lady and principle also.
Interesting facts, how she(Jyothika) was marketing for the school
1) we have engineering college of our own. And pass-out of this colleges teaches in this school.
Sounds interesting this is the future of the students who study in this Engineering College............. So this is campus placement for those students.
This were the words of that Lady Jyothika.
Not sure how they teach the students ....But this is the first impression i got. They have good infrastructure , which they have and are still building by development fees
Instead of paying 75K for Building , i will prefer investing this amount for future of my kid. already they are charging more they one Lakh (1,11,000 Inr) so for what else they need for development.
So , Keep in Tune................
Add more and more reviews so that this schools don't Cheat like this.

Govt would do nothing as we are not vote candidates, and they know it very rightly. Underlying all these fee hikes and loot of money, there are authorities involved who are supposed to protect from all these malpractices. My point is: Never pay different amount when they ask. If they ask same X-lacs to all the parents, do pay based on your rating to school, but never ever pay even x-paise, if it differ from other parents. Thats very unethical way of starting your kids career.
Trust me Govt would do nothing on all these

True. we all should say "NO" then only school administration will come on track. Gvt should take action on such schools.

So we did attend the interaction session for my Son who will be 2yrs 6 months by June 1 2012. He did well as far as indentifying objects and shapes and the teacher was pleased with him, however the trust didnt feel he should get the admission into nursery as he will be the youngest in the class and may later develop pressure as everyone else will be older than him. So finally they agreed to take him provided we make him go thru nursery for another year.
And below is how the fees work
Development Fee (one time) : 35k
Admission Fee (one time) : 35k
Annual fee 1st installment at the time of admission : 19000
2nd and 3rd installments,19k each
The ppt they showed us had almost all the activities under the sun...not sure if the child can cope up with so many. Also the teacher made a point that they make sure every child goes on a field trip or a tour once every month...I felt it was a little too much!!
Otherwise we liked the ambience, classrooms and the other plus point for us is the proximity to school.
We decided to go back next year for nursery admissions
