Sushmita Srivastava

With eight years of experience, I hold a D.ED in Special Education focusing on DC and AD/HD, an MA in Psychology, and am a certified Speech Language Therapist. My journey toward becoming a special educator was motivated by my son, who requires special education.

Before venturing into the field of special education, I had a background in the financial field. However, my child's needs opened my eyes to the importance of specialized education. Determined to make a difference in the lives of children like my son, I pursued a career as a special educator. For over seven years, I have worked as a speech therapist.

My primary goal is to teach students with special needs, and I have had the privilege of providing one-on-one classes, both online and through home tuition. To ensure effective learning, I incorporate interactive and play-way methods, enabling students to engage with the material in an enjoyable and stimulating manner.

In addition to academic learning, I firmly believe in imparting real-life skills to my students. I incorporate practical activities and exercises that help them develop essential skills necessary for independent living. By applying these skills in their day-to-day lives, my students gain confidence and a sense of accomplishment.

As a special education teacher, I am committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. I understand the unique challenges that each student faces and tailor my teaching methods accordingly. By providing individualized attention and support, I strive to foster a sense of belonging and encourage the growth of each student. I actively seek opportunities to enhance my skills and knowledge through workshops, conferences, and further education.
