Fabric painting is acrylic, water based, while oil is oil based. fabric painting, strokes are beautiful, but you have to be very fast, once it dries you cant do anything, while in oil it takes time , so you can keep merging and make changes. both has their own advantages.

Fabric colors are water based while oil color are oil based. To paint with fabric color you need water while with oil you need linseed oil to dilute.fabric color dry quickly, on the other hand oil color takes several days to dry, even a month.
