Hello! You do not need to learn any courses to set up a studio. Find a large room and buy some basic accessories and you are set. :-) However, running a photo-studio successfully is something that needs to be learned. First, you need to learn well the type of photography you are planning to do in the studio - whether it is fine art, product, fashion etc - as that would dictate the kind of accessories you need (what kind of lights, stands, modifiers etc etc). This is the most difficult part - the actual 'photography' bit. Even though, you will end up spending far more time on the second type of learning - how to run a business. Here you will have to learn about all the business-related things (inc marketing). So, before you set up a studio - learn photography well. Once you are very good at it, then think of opening a studio. read less

Once you learn the basics, i would recommend to take your camera out and start working on different setups, get your friends to model, try landscapes, different times of the day, fast and slow shutter scenes, read blogs, train your eyes from sites like 500px.com, try practising with events you attend or on food you eat, etc.. Once you are comfortable with your camera in and out and have resources and network, decide how you you want to take it further. Good luck! cheers! read less
