VLOOKUP can become slow in Excel for several reasons such as, Large Data Sets, Calculation Mode, Array Formulas, Volatility, etc. You can always improve the speed by using INDEX/MATCH instead, sort the data, using limit calculation range or by turning off Automatic Calculation.
