Objective Of The Research-
1. Finding potential reasons behind low popping efficiency ranging from 20% - 25%.
2. Escalating it to 40% - 45%. i.e if 1 kg seeds are roasted into the machine, 0.4 kg makhana (pops) is the targeted output.
- Formulated a Central Composite design in ‘Design Expert Software’ with 90 observations having 1.2 kg seeds as one experimental unit; 45 observations are gathered with 12 kg seeds as a unit. Trained the local workers at company to maintain quality of the data assembled, thus excelled the process.
- Fetched maximum information from the data utilizing visualization and Exploratory Data analysis tools, ANOVA, Hypothesis Testing, Boxplots, Contour Plots, 3D Response Surface Plot facilities from Minitab.
- The purpose behind usage of Response surface methodology is to trace the path of improvement from the vicinity of optimum to reach maximum efficiency.
Result- The popping efficiency increased to 40%.
