IdentityThere is nothing 'SILLY' about the mistakes we make in Mathematics. I strongly believe this. I am a teacher (B.Ed, Pune University) having teaching experience of 6 years in a renowned CBSE school in Pune and 1 year experience in giving private tuition. I have also passed CTET.
In all the 6 years that I was teaching, I was appointed as a class teacher and have used various teaching techniques to make the students understand the concepts.
I taught Mathematics as my main subject from Grade 3 to Grade 8, and science to Grade 7. The year when I was teaching Grade 3 I was a mother teacher and taught them all four subjects (English, Maths , Science and Social Studies).
I believe that it is very important to build a strong foundation of Mathematical concepts till 8th to score well in boards. At the same time I think Mathematics cannot be learnt only through books but should be related to day to day life for better understanding. Same strategy I have been using to teach science.
I was also engaged in Remedial teaching for weak students of 9th and 10th Grade.
I have also tutored students to revise and fill the gaps in the understanding of important concepts of their previous academic years. This activity goes for a short time say 2 months depending on how many concepts are to be cleared.
