Use of any knowledge or skill is its application. Non-use shall put it off from your top skillset.

a. Search and Apply to jobs which only need Python as the primary skill

OR

b. Try to build solutions using your new skill to common problems. You could sell this solutions (program) to people fighting with the problems. ex. At client facing level with Python and Django you could build websites starting from automating activities at small business and eventually scale the same program for large number of similar business or solutions to large business.

I understand it is easier than done but the basis of the input above is that unless the skill is under use it will rust. Either apply the skill via job/business solution or stay in practice to expanding your knowledge to various other libraries which shall help you strengthen your skills and better face job interviews and/or design and implement solutions to problems around. Any language Java, Python is easy to understand at the syntax level but difficult to master at the language strength level. It takes years of practice and writing tons of code.

We at Gunina are in middle of rolling out a custom domain for a medium size firm. The problem was simple of tracing the contractor (middleman) and some internal staff misleading the material used from inventory. We standardized set of inputs required to complete the product and created a workflow to seek approval when the material shoots beyond the standard levels. This brought down the mischief (theft) and we expect this will also reduced the number of suppliers down to ones who believe in being loyal to the business and do not mind an extra check in the operational level. Mostly developed by our training staff we were able to share the responsibility with few select candidates who were excellent on their assignment scores during the exit tests.
